The Number of Drug Addicts in Iran Has Doubled Since 2011
NCRI – According to the latest figures released by the Iranian regime, nearly three million people are “continuous” drug users in Iran. This figure is more than double the number of addicts in 2011.
A shocking study in Iran reveals a “positive attitude” of 28 percent of Iranian citizens towards using narcotics. In addition to increasing smoking rates for girls, it is said that the hallucinogenic drug “Gol” (Flower) is the most consumed among them, according to the state-run Fararu site.
The latest official statistics of the Iranian regime show an upward trend in the rate of addiction among Iranian women and girls. The statistics also reveal the birth of 7,500 baby addicts in Iran annually. At the same time, experts estimate that the true number of drug addicts in Iran is much more than the official figures.
Poverty and social disadvantages, including unemployment, and lack of satisfaction and happiness especially among young people, and easy access to drugs, are among the reasons for the spread of addiction in Iran.
