ON 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF US-ALBANIA DIPLOMATIC TIES
On March 15, 1991, the United States and Albania re-established diplomatic ties.
Today we mark this anniversary and the strategic choice of the Albanian people to embrace democracy and join the Euro-Atlantic community. We have much to celebrate. Over the last 30 years Albania and the United States have built a strong partnership based on shared values, common goals, and people-to-people ties.
Albania is a steadfast NATO ally. We are grateful to Albania for its leadership and its role to promoting regional and global security through its contribution as a NATO member.
Together we will continue to make progress toward our common vision and grow our vibrant bilateral relationship.
Albania has no greater ally, partner, or friend than the United States. We look forward to what we can achieve together over the next 30 years. (Ned Price, spokesperson of US State Department)
