Socialist party apologizes to Serbian president
The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) apologized to President Aleksandar Vucic after one of its members insulted him at a public event.
The SPS official sang using a football hooligan slogan which uses derogatory language to describe Vucic as homosexual. A video of the SPS official singing was posted on social media and re-posted on Instagram by Vucic with the words “so much for inventive programs and plans for Serbia”.
The SPS is part of the ruling coalition with Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
“The individual (recorded singing) has been expelled from the party and has been removed from all his positions. That will happen to everyone who fails to respect SPS policies. We want to apoligize to President Aleksandar Vucic with who the SPS and our leader Ivica Dacic have had very good cooperation for 11 years with the aim of continuing that cooperation after the December elections in the interest of Serbia,” a statement said./n1info.rs
