Roth: Vucic talking conspiracies, elections must be reviewed, EU must act
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic does not take criticism constructively, but spreads conspiracy theories, said the chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, Michael Roth.
“If it weren’t so sad, you’d have to laugh. President Vucic does not take criticism constructively, but spreads conspiracy theories, unleashes his media pack and starts a hunt against those who think differently. The elections need to be urgently reviewed. The EU must act,” Roth wrote in a post on X.
Roth was reacting to a headline on the pro-regime tabloid Informer’s front page: “Yellow scum destroying Serbia together with the Germans.” ‘Yellow’ is a derogatory term for the Serbian opposition.
Roth retweeted a tweet by Thomas Brey, an assistant professor of political science and journalism at several German universities and former head of the German DPA news agency’s Southeast Europe Bureau.
