Vucic: I’m disappointed by Cameron’s statement, we’re not Russia’s proxy
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said during his visit to the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Belgrade that he is disappointed by British Foreign Secretary David Cameron’s statement, who called Serbia “Russia’s proxy.”
Vucic said Serbia is an independent country, that it is not anyone’s proxy, not that of Russia, America, Britain, Germany or anyone else’s, but that it prides itself on its independence.
“There is talk that we will destabilize the region. It seems to me that many others are working on this with wholehearted help from those who are lecturing us. You get in the way of many when you want to have your own policy, it is not one of being obedient, and we will continue to pursue an independent policy toward the Russian Federation and toward others,” said Vucic.
David Cameron said this while giving evidence to the UK Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee in his new role as Foreign Secretary.
