Parliament adopted protocol for Montenegro’s membership in NATO

With 109 votes in favor, Albania is the fifth country that has ratified the protocol for Montenegrin membership in NATO.

Montenegro’s assembly speaker, Darko Pajovic, praised the decision.
He was in Tirana today and held a meeting with the assembly speaker.

After the meeting, they held a joint press conference where he praised the good relations between the two countries.

“I thank the Albanian Parliament for the acceleration of membership. You’re the fifth state to ratify the protocol for Montenegro’s membership in NATO. In this way, we will not only strengthen our relationship, but you are sending a good message to the other NATO member states that this process speeds up when it walks in the right direction, “said Pajovicc.

“Montenegro’s accession into NATO and progress towards completion without delay the Euro-Atlantic integration processes of all countries in our region, are key for strengthening the prospects of peace and stability for Southeast Europe. We discussed Albanians’ rights in Montenegro, considering them as a solid bridge of friendship and an important element for stability and internal cohesion of Montenegro”, said Meta.

The Montenegrin assembly speaker’s visit to Tirana comes during a time when there is a strong debate about the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences encyclopedia reads that the Albanians are an aggressive foreign people. While a few days ago, some Albanians have been fined by the Montenegrin authorities after waving the Albanian national flag in their vehicles in Budva.
