• U.S. Condemns Iran regime’s Execution of Sufi Man In Police Killing Case

The United States has condemned Iran’s execution of a Sufi man who was convicted of killing three police officers during clashes between police and a Sufi sect in February.

The Iranian judiciary said Mohammad Reza Salas, 51, was hanged early on June 18.

“Salas’s rushed execution is the latest example of the Iranian regime’s disregard for the human rights of its citizens,” Heather Nauert, spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department, said in a statement late on June 18.

• Strike And Demonstration Of Iran’s Shoe Manufacturers In Tehran Market

On Monday, June 18, 2018, shoe manufacturers in the Sepahsalar Market (Market Bags and Shoes) in Tehran, Iran protested over the cost of materials for producing shoes, and went on strike by closing their shops and then held a demonstration rally in the market.

They called on other colleagues to close their shops and join the movement.

• Continuation of Student Protests At University Of Tehran Against Heavy Judicial Sentences For Students In Iran

On Monday morning, June 18, 2018, after the cancellation of university examinations, student protests at the University of Tehran were resumed as students opposing harsh judicial sentences against student activists, gathered and launched a protest and sit-in at the campus of the University’s Faculty of Social Sciences.

• Israel Charges a Former Minister with Spying for Iran

Mr. Segev, 62, who has been living in Nigeria in recent years, was arrested in May “on suspicion of having aided the enemy in wartime and spied against the state of Israel,” the Israeli police and the Shin Bet internal security agency said in a joint statement.

He was arrested after he had traveled to Equatorial Guinea, where he was refused entry, having been declared wanted by Israel, and was held until the Israeli police could take him into custody. Mr. Segev was transferred to Israel and immediately detained for questioning.

• Saudi Arabia Says New Yemen Missile Intercepted

Saudi air defenses on Sunday intercepted a ballistic missile fired from rebel-held territory in neighboring Yemen, state media reported, as a Riyadh-led military coalition pushes a major offensive to capture a strategic port.

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed via their news outlet Al-Masirah that the missile had targeted a military camp in Jizan.
