Jewish Community: REM chief Zekic insulted us all
The Jewish Community of Belgrade most strongly condemned the promotion of Nazism by Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) chief Olivera Zekic who posted a photomontage of herself in Nazi uniform on her Telegram channel profile.
“While the public media space, including the media with national frequencies, has experienced an explosion of anti-Semitism and the spread of hatred, REM chief uses the worst period of human history as material for entertainment while at the same time insulting the entire Jewish community in Serbia and the region and relativizing the greatest evils of humanity, which many of our surviving members still remember,” said the Jewish Community.
It said that the Nazi ideology is proven to be the greatest evil in the history of human civilization, and requires constant education and reminders of its consequences.
