The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu, wished the birthday of the famous Albanian writer, Ismail Kadare.
President Osmani said that in the life of nations it often happens that people of culture, art and literature, give way to the nation in the most difficult moments of its history, being the greatest articulators of the idea of freedom.
“Such is our writer Ismail Kadare, master of verse and speech, defender of the western culture of Albanians”, said President Osmani.

In the life of nations, it often happens that the people of culture, art and literature, give way to the nation in the most difficult moments of its history, being the greatest articulators of the idea of freedom.
Such is our writer Ismail Kadare, master of verse and speech, defender of the western culture of the Albanians.
In his masterpieces, measurable only by the classics of world literature, he managed to reveal the free spirit of the nation, its history, traditions, culture and belonging (identity), when the dictatorship was trying to alienate it.
The world today knows the tradition, culture and soul of Albanians through his works, without the need for history teachers.
Our nation is eternally grateful to this colossus of letters. Kosovo, in particular, bows to him for the rare weight of his word.
