American No: Mandic gets neither Government nor Parliament
By Andrej Nikolaidis, CdM columnist
America once again said “No” to Spajic and Mandic.
The USA did it in a rather dramatic manner, which further emphasized the clarity of that “No”: with the crystal-clear announcement of Ambassador Reinke published last night before midnight. As they say: it couldn’t wait for the morning’.
It seems that not only Milatovic, but also Spajic have a poorer understanding of English than would be expected from a paramour from the world stock markets and a quiet, unaccomplished genius from Oxford (Milatovic can’t speak our language well either: couldn’t Vuk leave out the grammatical cases?). Americans tell them what they expect, they nod, then they go and do the opposite.
Ambassador Reinke replied to the Vijesti journalist by saying that “the USA is very concerned about reports that the new ruling coalition in Montenegro could be made up of parties and leaders who are actively opposed to Euro-Atlantic values”.
If anyone still doesn’t understand, she drew it, and then brought it to Spajic:
“The reality is that the participation in government of groups or leaders who refuse to condemn Russian aggression, refuse to stand up for the rights of Ukraine, refuse to support EU sanctions against Russia, refuse to protect the rights of minorities and refuse to respect the independence of neighboring countries like Kosovo, drastically hinder the efforts of Montenegro in realizing its European aspirations”.
After this, Eureope Now Movement (PES) and the Albanian parties can do as they want and with whom they want: rruga e hajrit. But the story of forming a government with parties “that are actively opposed to European values”, as Reinke said, for the sake of Europe’s future – will not be sold to anyone.
Those parties should also include the Democrats, who broke every agreement and did everything to form a government that is unacceptable to the USA. Thez did it with hyena smiles and swearing to principles. That party very actively opposed European values and all the recommendations of the Quint countries and the USA.
The charade is over. What is happening to Montenegro under the new government is not a path to Europe, but goodbye to Europe. It is not the strengthening of democracy, but assimilation and identity engineering. It is not the rule of law, but the path to the introduction of constituent nations into the Constitution; the path to ethno-federalization, i.e. Daytonization of Montenegro.
And now we are in the clear. Mandic at the head of Parliament is a travesty. It is a national humiliation. It is the 40th Day memorial service for Montenegro’s democracy. The fact that it was acceptable to the winners of the elections in Montenegro, as well as to some Albanian parties, is shameful. And to the citizens, to tell the truth. When collapsing, let’s collapse to the bottom and through the bottom.
But it is not acceptable to the USA.
I don’t know if they will succeed in this, but this time the Americans did what they could to save our reputation and this little hope in Montenegro that the 30-August winners had not yet desecrated and trampled on.
