Serbian government apoints Frenchman to head diplomacy office
The Serbian government appointed a French humanitarian worker to head its Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, a press release said on Thursday.
It said that Arnaud Gouillon was appointed to head the government office which promotes state interests by presenting national values and goals. Gouillon said he would start working right away and added that the office faces challenges due to the increasing pressure on Serbia.
Gouillon is a native of Grenoble with a degree in ecology. He is the founder of the Solidarity for Kosovo humanitarian organization which has been providing aid to the Kosovo Serbs since 2004. He has also authored several books on Kosovo and a documentary titled Kosovo, Christianity in Danger which was aired on French TV. He has been resident in Serbia since 2012 and is married to a France-born Serbian. Gouillon headed the government Department for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region since 2020. He is a member of the Serbian Progressive Party.
