– No, we have neither the intention nor the ability to follow the fate of the prisoner and the process of his stay in the competent institutions – Peskov said at the press conference, RIA Novosti reported.
Commenting on Washington’s statements of concern over Navalny’s fate, Peskov said that he was found guilty in court and that any interference, including American interference, is unacceptable.
– This is a prisoner who was found guilty and is serving a sentence. We believe that anyone’s intervention, including the US, is unacceptable – said Peskov.
Earlier, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller expressed concern about Navalny’s fate and said it had been conveyed to the Russian government. Peskov pointed out that the Russian government is not aware of such reports.
– Maybe it was transmitted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I don’t know – added Peskov.
Navalny’s associates announced on Monday that they have not had any information about him for six days, nor do they know where he is.
